Embrapa Tropical Agroindustry

Attending to the demand and vision of agribusiness, Embrapa Tropical Agro-industry is today a point of international reference in cashew research. Its organizational structure establishes the following research and development areas: cashew nuts and walnuts, beverages, fruits and vegetables with aggregated value, conserves, frozen and dried food, semi-processed food, flowers and ornamental plants.

Its main objective is the articulation of productive chains in partnerships with producers, industries, cooperatives and associations. Also, to subsidize the formulation of public policies and decision- making in private initiatives.

To fulfil its mission, the team of 54 researchers relies on an infrastructure comprising 10 laboratories, educational plant, 2 experimental stations and some 220 hectares for research.
