Focusing on the development of the Canola production chain in the Federal District and surroundings, Embrapa Agroenergia closed a partnership with Cooperativa Agrícola do Rio Preto (Coarp) for the execution of the project "Sustainable production system for the cultivation and processing of Canola oil in the Cerrado with a focus on the bioeconomy (Procanola). In the first year of the project (2021), an average productivity of 2 thousand kg/ha was reached, above the Brazilian average, which is 1,400 kg/ha, even with the low rainfall from planting to harvest, only 70 mm in total, about 20% of what the literature says is necessary for a good development of the crop. The data obtained showed that the cultivar Nuola 300 was the one that best adapted to the Federal District, achieving excellent ground cover, especially in irrigated cultivation. For 2022, Embrapa Agroenergia is preparing the launch of the MaisCanola application, which will allow the producer to monitor virtually all stages of cultivation, from planting to harvesting. The application will provide essential technical information and will help the producer prepare the area, sow and monitor the plant. Data on cultivation and harvesting can also be entered, which will allow Embrapa to adapt the cultivation system to the real conditions and needs of producers.
