BRS Caatingueiro is a very early cycle corn variety, which blooms between 41 and 50 days, and it has as advantage the reduction of the risk of suffering from moisture stress in the period that corn is more sensitive to lack of water. This superprecocity allows the harvest in 90 to 100 days with maximum productivity limit, in the driest region of the Brazilian semi-arid area, ranging from 2 to 3 tons of grains per hectare. Under more regular precipitation conditions, yields ranging from 4 to 6 tons of grains per hectare can be produced. It adapts to the regions of northeastern Brazil with a focus on the semiarid region. It has good tolerance to lodging and culm breakage.
