Minister will request compensation for environmental services in agriculture in Marrakech

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (Mapa, from the acronym in Portuguese) will adopt a firm stance at COP22, the UN Climate Conference that is being held until next Friday (18) in Marrakech, Morocco. Minister Blairo Maggi, who is part of the government's delegation, is going to advocate that Brazilian agricultural products should be preferred in the global market due to their compliance with strict environmental legislation – a stance that distingues Brazil from other food producing countries.
